A clinic operator in Palamu’s Chhaterpur has been arrested and sent to jail for allegedly raping a woman who sought medical help for her child. The incident unfolded in Hutukdag village when the accused, Sanjay Kumar, reportedly used the child’s illness as a pretext for the assault. The woman, whose husband is away, was visiting the clinic with her sick child. Kumar allegedly told the woman the child had a cold and required steam, leading them to a nearby house where he is accused of committing the rape. The victim stated she was threatened after the ordeal but decided to report the matter to the Chhaterpur police. The police responded with immediate action, arresting Kumar from Rabda, and he has been placed in judicial custody. This development was confirmed by the district’s SP.
