The East Singhbhum district has commenced a special awareness campaign as part of the state government’s initiative against prohibited substances. The campaign was officially launched by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, who flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. This chariot will traverse the various blocks of the district to educate the public about the negative consequences of substance abuse. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also administered an oath against drug addiction to all the officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He highlighted the wide-ranging effects of addiction, which impact individual health, future, family, and society, causing both mental and physical health problems. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for every segment of society to participate in the campaign to create a drug-free society and urged citizens to actively engage in the campaign and spread awareness among their communities. Through this campaign, the district administration will disseminate the message of freedom from addiction across the district and encourage everyone to stay away from its adverse effects. The special campaign is scheduled to run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, with various awareness programs designed to inform the public about the harmful effects of drug use.
