In a closely watched by-election for the 45-Ghatsila (Scheduled Tribe) Assembly seat in East Singhbhum, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate, Somesh Chandra Soren, is demonstrating a powerful performance. As the vote count progresses into the third round, Soren has established a substantial lead over his rivals. He has accumulated 16,110 votes, while the BJP’s Babulal Soren trails with 8,569 votes. This early lead of approximately 7,541 votes suggests strong support for the JMM in the constituency.
Details from the third round of counting highlight the distribution of votes among various candidates. Ramdas Murmu of the Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) received 5,278 votes. Votes were also cast for other parties and independent candidates. Panchanan Soren from the Bharat Adivasi Party secured 157 votes, and Parvati Hansda of the Peoples Party of India (Democratic) received 60 votes. Independent candidates such as Mansa Ram Haansda (106), Manoj Kumar Singh (114), Dr. Shrilal Kisku (306), and Vikas Hembram (212) also garnered votes. The NOTA option received 505 votes. Measures are in place to ensure a secure and transparent counting process. The final outcome will be declared after the completion of all counting rounds.
