Chief Minister Hemant Soren spearheaded a digital revolution in Jharkhand’s assembly on Wednesday, inaugurating the NeVA Service Center during the ongoing budget session. This national initiative aims to modernize legislative functioning through the e-Vidhan app.
Addressing the gathering, Soren declared the launch as the dawn of a new chapter. Legislative processes will now be simpler, more accountable, and efficient. MLAs gain freedom from late-night filings, while staff enjoy smoother workflows.
India’s digital legislature movement, active in about 20 states, now includes Jharkhand. Equipped tablets and detailed training sessions equip lawmakers for app-based duties. This paves the way for paperless future proceedings.
Soren highlighted Jharkhand’s progress quarter-century after statehood, crediting the speaker’s push for innovation. Like routine app-based banking, NeVA streamlines official work, reducing paper clutter and boosting speed.
Challenges ahead? Absolutely, but training programs address them head-on. Soren warned of cyber crimes, urging robust security practices to safeguard questions and files from interference.
In a ceremonial handover, Soren and Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto gave tablets to ministers and MLAs. The program drew ministers, legislators, officials, and employees, all witnessing history in the making.
