The Minister of School Education in Jharkhand, Ramdas Soren, and a senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has passed away at Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on Friday. Soren had been unwell for a period of time and was receiving ventilator support. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, confirmed the news, expressing deep sorrow. A fall in his bathroom at his residence resulted in a severe head injury and brain hemorrhage, leading to his airlifting to Delhi for specialist medical attention. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, his condition did not improve. Ramdas Soren, a former MLA from the Ghatshila constituency, played a key role in the Jharkhand movement. His funeral will be held in his hometown.
