A significant controversy has erupted in Jharkhand following the last-minute cancellation of the Jharkhand Specific and Technical Eligibility Competitive Examination by the JSSC. Babulal Marandi, the BJP state president and Leader of the Opposition, has strongly condemned the Hemant Soren government, accusing it of breaking its promises to the youth and betraying their trust.
The examination, intended for technically qualified graduates, was called off on short notice, reportedly due to technical complications. Marandi questioned the validity of these technical reasons, suggesting that the government’s handling of the situation points to a larger issue of mismanagement or deliberate delay tactics. He highlighted the considerable financial strain and psychological impact on the candidates who had prepared extensively and traveled to attend the examination. Marandi accused the current administration of perpetuating a cycle of disappointment for Jharkhand’s youth over the past six years, citing alleged paper leaks as evidence of a compromised system. He demanded a swift resolution to the technical problems, a transparent and expedited rescheduling of the exam, and government reimbursement for the candidates’ travel and accommodation costs.
