Jharkhand Focuses on Scientific Waste Disposal Clusters
1 min readJharkhand is adopting a decentralized approach to tackle its growing waste challenges under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh has highlighted the necessity of locating processing plants away from residential populations and natural water sources to prevent contamination. The new roadmap involves setting up dedicated clusters in every district that will serve as hubs for scientific dumping and recycling. Singh also mandated that once existing dump sites are cleared, extensive plantation drives should be conducted to restore the ecological balance of the area. This holistic strategy is designed to integrate environmental conservation with modern waste management, ensuring a cleaner future for the state’s rural and urban populations.
