The Jharkhand government, following a meeting of the State Sentence Review Board, has decided to release 51 inmates serving life sentences. The decision came after a thorough review of the cases of inmates in different jails. The meeting reviewed 37 new cases and reconsidered 66 cases previously rejected by the board. The Chief Minister instructed officials to connect the released prisoners with social security schemes.
