JMM and Congress Settle Jharkhand Rajya Sabha Dispute

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Congress party have successfully navigated a potential electoral crisis by finalizing their strategy for the Rajya Sabha elections. According to the agreed terms, the JMM will field one candidate, while the Congress will nominate another, putting an end to the 'two-seat' claim previously made by JMM leadership. The friction began when JMM expressed displeasure over the announcement of Pranav Jha as a candidate without their prior approval. JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya had noted that such moves hurt the sentiments of the alliance. However, after detailed deliberations on the legislative math, both parties realized that a split vote could jeopardize their chances. The alliance now moves forward with a unified front to secure their presence in the Upper House.
