Following the news of Education Minister Ramdas Soren’s illness, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has called for responsible behavior on social media. The party’s spokesperson, Kunal Sharangi, criticized the spread of unsubstantiated rumors and urged people to avoid sharing unconfirmed reports. He stressed the importance of preventing the dissemination of information that could cause distress or mislead the public, especially the minister’s family. Sharangi asked the public to pray for the minister’s quick recovery. Sharangi is in Delhi and plans to provide accurate updates after meeting with the doctors. The reports regarding the Education Minister’s health triggered reactions within the political arena. Some leaders and individuals began posting tributes on social media before any official confirmation. These premature tributes included senior JMM leaders and people from the BJP and other parties. A photograph of JMM Chief Whip Mathura Prasad Mahato offering silent tribute to Minister Soren also went viral on social media. However, when it was realized that the minister’s condition was stable, many of the posts were subsequently deleted, which created confusion regarding the actual health situation.
