Khunti Police, in a recent operation, have arrested three active members of the outlawed PLFI organization. The arrests occurred during a raid conducted in the Baksapur Jhanda Tongri forest under Jariagarh police station. The individuals apprehended were identified as Gendra Barla alias Laden, Asim Topno, and Ajit Topno alias Duda. Law enforcement recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, PLFI propaganda material, and mobile phones from the suspects. Addressing the media, SP Manish Toppo said that the police acted on credible intelligence about PLFI members planning an act of violence. A special team, under the leadership of SDPO Christopher Kerketta, was formed and conducted a raid in the specified area. The suspects were apprehended, and the seized items were confiscated. They have been placed in judicial custody. The SP further revealed that the arrested individuals were linked to the arson of a road roller near Ramjay village under Rania police station on May 26. During questioning, they confessed to the crime, citing their aim to create terror. Gendra Barla, known as Laden, has a past criminal record, including an Arms Act case filed in 2020. After his release from jail, he rejoined the PLFI to aid in the organization’s expansion. The raiding team included officials from various police stations, including Torpa and Rania, as well as armed forces personnel.
