The community of Lohardaga is mourning the deaths of a grandmother and her grandson, found murdered in Bhakso village under Sadar police station. The deceased are identified as Ritesh Oraon, 16, and his grandmother, Barya Oraon. Initial reports show that Ritesh was murdered with a ‘tangi’, and his grandmother died of suffocation. The double homicide occurred late Wednesday night. Other family members were asleep nearby and were unaware of the incident. The Sadar police arrived promptly at the crime scene. The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital, Lohardaga, for a post-mortem. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths, aiming to determine the motives behind the killings. Authorities have assured that the case will be resolved soon. The village is currently experiencing a heightened state of fear and anger.
