Major Blow to Maoists as Four Rebels Slain in Hazaribagh Forest

The CPI (Maoist) suffered a devastating setback in Jharkhand as a joint security team eliminated four prominent members in the Keredari region. Hazaribagh SP Anjani Anjan confirmed that the encounter took place near Bundu Khapiyan village during a pre-dawn tactical operation. The most significant casualty was Shahdev Mahato, a notorious commander wanted for numerous insurgent activities. Along with him, three other rebels were killed in the exchange. The recovery of two AK-47 rifles and one INSAS rifle highlights the threat level of the group. Officials stated that this success would drastically reduce Maoist influence across the Hazaribagh-Chatra border area.
