In a significant operation, security forces in Gumla district, Jharkhand, neutralized three Naxalites, dealing a major blow to extremist activities in the region. The encounter took place in the forests of Rogri Toli, Bishunpur police station area. The deceased included sub-zonal commanders Lalu Lohar and Chhotu Uraon, each with a ₹5 lakh bounty, and cadre Sujit Uraon. The joint operation involved Gumla police and Jharkhand Jaguar, who were acting on intelligence about planned criminal activities by the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP). The Naxalites initiated the firing, which was met with a strong response from the security forces, resulting in the deaths. This operation followed a previous success on August 6, 2025, in which police killed the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) supremo, Martin Kerketta, who carried a reward of ₹15 lakh, in the Kamdara area.
