Police have arrested Jayant Kumar Singh from the Sarnath police station area in Varanasi for allegedly threatening Jharkhand’s Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari. The mobile phone used to make the threats has also been recovered. The accused is an MBBS student.
An FIR was registered at the Steel City police station in Bokaro district on Monday after threats were made to Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari.
According to the complaint, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari received several calls from the same number, with the caller threatening him with violence. Following the registration of the case, the Jharkhand Police tracked the mobile number used to threaten Dr. Irfan Ansari. However, Jayant Kumar Singh kept changing locations to avoid capture.
Reports indicate that the Jharkhand Police, with assistance from the Sarnath police in Uttar Pradesh, apprehended Jayant Kumar on Thursday while he was attempting to escape towards Ghazipur. During this operation, the police captured Jayant Kumar Singh, who threatened Jharkhand’s Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari.
The mobile phone used to make the threats was also seized. He allegedly evaded police attempts and was trying to flee to Ghazipur. Based on his mobile location, the Jharkhand Police, with the support of the Sarnath Police, intercepted him near Audihar by stopping a roadways bus. Jayant Kumar Singh, the individual accused of threatening Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, is an MBBS graduate and was preparing for a master’s degree in medicine. He also owns a house in Shillong, Meghalaya.
