Khunti district witnessed the celebration of the Jivitputrika festival with traditional rituals and enthusiasm on Sunday. Mothers observed a 24-hour waterless fast and performed elaborate prayers, seeking the well-being and long lives of their children. The festival involved the establishment of sacred peepal tree branches in various homes and neighborhoods, including Karra Road, Torpa Road, Pipratoli, and nearby villages, where collective worship ceremonies were organized. The women expressed great joy and devotion during the puja, dedicated to the happiness and longevity of their children. Besides the district headquarters, the festival was also celebrated in other blocks, including Torpa, Rania, Murhu, and Arki.
