The death of a patient who was brought to the hospital on a tractor-trolley has caused a political and social storm in Jamtara, Jharkhand. Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, whose home constituency is Jamtara, has taken note of the incident. He acknowledged the recurring complaints regarding the 108 ambulance service and stated that action has been initiated against the driver and responsible personnel. While the government promises reforms and stricter monitoring, the villagers remain skeptical. They point out that in remote areas, the absence of a reliable ambulance service often turns a treatable condition into a death sentence.
