Police Arrest 8 in Ranchi Gangrape Case; Search for One On

Ranchi police have arrested eight men in connection with a heinous gang-rape case in the Mandar locality. The crime, which occurred late Friday night, involved the abduction of a woman from her own home. The suspects allegedly dragged her to a lonely stretch near the Karage river, where she was repeatedly assaulted. The victim remained in the clutches of the accused until Saturday morning, when she was left in a traumatized state near the waterbody. The Ranchi SSP took immediate cognizance of the matter, directing a multi-station police force to execute raids across various locations. The operation, which lasted nearly eight hours, resulted in the arrest of eight suspects. A minor was also identified and taken into custody. The police have identified the primary suspects, many of whom are residents of the same or neighboring villages. Medical examinations for the victim have been conducted, and her statement has been recorded under relevant legal provisions. The authorities have assured the public that the investigation will be fast-tracked to ensure justice.
