Previous Incident Highlights Increasing Violence in Dumka District

The double murder in Dumka district is not an isolated incident. Just a few days prior, on the night of September 1st, Lokesh Murmu, a disabled man, attacked his girlfriend, Heiramurni Hembram, and murdered her parents, Saheb Hembram and Mangali Kisku, with a sharp weapon in the Shikharipara police station area. The motive was reportedly rejection in a marriage proposal, highlighting the increasing violence in the region.
