The musical talents of Ramgarh students have been recognized with a silver medal win at the Jharkhand State Level School Band Competition. The event, organized by the Jharkhand Education Project Council in Khelgaon’s Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, showcased the skills of school bands from across the state. The team representing Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Catha, Ramgarh, shone brightly in the pipe band category. Under the guidance of their captain, Rani Kumari, the 25-member ensemble impressed with their dynamic performance of patriotic anthems, securing an impressive second-place finish statewide. Officials have lauded this achievement as a significant milestone. District Education Officer Kumari Neelam expressed her delight, calling it a proud moment for Ramgarh and acknowledging the hard work of all involved, from educational authorities to the students. District Education Superintendent Sanjeet Kumar highlighted the positive impact of ‘Khel Jharkhand’ on student development and expressed confidence in the band’s potential for future success. He believes this accomplishment will inspire a new generation of performers. Assistant District Project Officer Nalini Ranjan underscored the vital role of specialized training provided by Subedar Major Kulwant Singh of the Sikh Regimental Centre, Ramgarh, in the team’s success. This silver medal is seen as the first of many victories, with ambitions set on gold medals in the future. The departmental initiative to establish band teams in every district school aims to broaden participation and cultivate musical talent across the region.
