Ranchi Police Arrest One After Fatal Mob Attack in Lahna Village

Following the brutal lynching of a youth in Ranchi’s Ratu area, the local police have initiated a massive crackdown on those involved. An FIR has been registered at the Ratu police station against 15 individuals, including named suspects Indrajit Sahu and Santosh Sahu. The police have successfully apprehended Indrajit Sahu and are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused who are currently at large. The victim, Rohit Mirdha, succumbed to injuries sustained during a mob assault triggered by allegations of molesting a woman. Senior police officials have stated that they are examining every angle of the case, including the claims of a prior land dispute raised by the victim’s family. To maintain law and order in Lahna village, additional forces have been stationed at various points. The authorities have appealed to the public not to take the law into their own hands and have promised a fair and thorough investigation into both the murder and the circumstances leading up to it.
