The Chakradharpur-Chaibasa main road (NH-75E) experienced a severe traffic jam following a fatal accident that killed a young man. Vijay Pan, a resident of Baihatu village, died instantly after being struck by a Manjila bus originating from Ranchi. The tragic event took place in the vicinity of Baihatu village. Angered by the sudden loss, community members and the victim’s family promptly staged a road blockade, which persisted for nearly three hours. Their primary demand was for compensation to be provided at the scene of the accident, refusing to allow the body to be removed otherwise. Law enforcement officers arrived and engaged in dialogue with the protesters. After persistent efforts and the provision of initial compensation by the administration, the blockade was lifted, and vehicular movement returned to normal by late evening. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and investigations are continuing.
