Jamtara’s top police official, SP Rajkumar Mehta, initiated a late-night, surprise inspection across the city on Tuesday to assess security effectiveness. The comprehensive review covered vital installations like the Jamtara Divisional Jail, the Judicial Court complex, and the operational status of night patrols, Tiger Mobile, PCR, and QRT units. During the inspection, a significant security deficiency was identified at the Judicial Court. Constable Sikandar Rawani, tasked with security duties at the court, was discovered to be absent from his post without authorization. This was categorized as a serious security lapse, especially given the court’s sensitive nature. Demonstrating a zero-tolerance approach to such failures, SP Mehta ordered the immediate suspension of Constable Rawani. The SP also conducted a thorough examination of the jail’s security protocols and issued essential directives to all personnel.
