A vehicle parked at Tatanagar Railway Station’s outer gate became engulfed in flames on Saturday afternoon. The fire spread rapidly, turning the car into an inferno. While bystanders tried to combat the flames, the intensity of the blaze forced them to alert the fire department. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries. The owner, Srinivas Nayak, who lives in Gamharia, was at the station with his wife and son to send off his son on the Duronto Express. He had parked his Hyundai car near the gate and then went with his family towards the platform area. Soon after, smoke began to rise from the car, followed by thick flames. People nearby attempted to put out the fire using water, but the flames grew larger and larger, destroying the car completely. The fire department dispatched a team to the location, and after a considerable effort, they managed to extinguish the fire. Mr. Nayak reported being informed about the fire while he was still inside the station. When he came out, his car was already destroyed by the fire. He suspects a potential short circuit led to the accident, but an official investigation is underway to confirm the cause.
