The village of Deviyapur in Koderma bid a tearful farewell to its brave son, CRPF jawan Sujit, on Friday. His coffin, adorned with the Indian tricolor, arrived from Srinagar, where he was serving on naka duty. A vast crowd spontaneously emerged as the vehicle neared the village, eager to pay homage to the fallen soldier. People from all walks of life gathered, their faces etched with grief, to witness the solemn occasion. Sujit’s family was devastated, struggling to come to terms with their loss. The community shared fond memories of him, highlighting his peaceful nature and his lifelong dedication to national service. The poignant scene of the coffin brought a collective lump to everyone’s throat. A procession followed, with villagers joining in to carry the coffin, chanting patriotic slogans that resonated through the streets. Security forces honored him with a Guard of Honour at the Dhobiya Deeh cremation site, a final salute to his ultimate sacrifice. The overwhelming public presence was a testament to Sujit’s deep connection with his community and his status as a local hero. His brother, Vikas Kumar Singh, is also part of the CRPF.
