The Teej festival, a celebration of love and dedication, was marked with fervor in the region. Married women observed the Teej fast with utmost devotion, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for the longevity and well-being of their husbands. The women observed a day-long, waterless fast, engaging in prayers and rituals. In both urban and rural areas, preparations for the festival began in the early hours, with prayer ceremonies arranged in various locations. Priests conducted the proceedings, narrating the Haritalika Teej story to the married women and ensuring the completion of the fast. According to the legend, Haritalika Teej commemorates the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Goddess Parvati, in her subsequent birth, underwent severe penance to win Lord Shiva as her husband. Impressed by her dedication, Lord Shiva granted her wish. The festival is celebrated by married women who observe the Haritalika Teej fast with traditional rituals for the long life and prosperity of their spouses.
