The capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi, is mourning the loss of three police officers following a catastrophic vehicle accident at Dhurwa Dam. The officers, serving as bodyguards to the Principal District Judge of Jamshedpur and including a government driver, were found deceased on Saturday morning. The incident is thought to have occurred late Friday night when their Swift car veered off course near Dhurwa Dam and crashed into the reservoir. Local eyewitnesses alerted the authorities to the vehicle’s plunge. A coordinated rescue effort involving the Dhurwa and Nagri police, along with skilled divers and community assistance, was deployed. After a prolonged operation, the car was recovered from the dam, tragically containing the remains of the three officers and their service weapons. An official investigation has commenced to ascertain the precise reasons behind the driver’s loss of control. Investigators are examining the recovered vehicle and piecing together the timeline of the officers’ movements prior to the fatal plunge.
