A devastating event has shaken the Bishunpur area of Gumla district, Jharkhand, involving the suicide of a teenage couple. The 16-year-old boy, a 10th-grade student, and his 14-year-old girlfriend, an 8th-grade student at the same school, were deeply involved romantically. The sequence of events began with a heated argument over the phone. Following the argument, the girl ended her life. The boy, distraught by her death, also took his own life shortly after. The police have taken charge of the situation, initiating an investigation and sending the bodies for post-mortem examination. The community is grappling with the tragedy and the underlying issues. This case follows a similar incident in East Singhbhum district, underlining the need for support systems for young couples.
