In a move that mirrors his previous outreach to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has now called upon Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren to join the National Democratic Alliance. While reviewing state-level projects in Ranchi, Athawale noted that the state’s development could be vastly improved through better coordination with the Centre. He suggested that Soren should prioritize growth over political opposition, much like his recent advice to the leadership in Kerala. Athawale remarked that the Union government is eager to assist Jharkhand, but a formal alliance with the NDA would make the process more efficient. He also pointed out that for the sake of political stability, moving away from the opposition bloc would be a strategic advantage for the JMM.
