Karnataka Congress Faces Internal Push for Cabinet Shake-Up in Delhi

In a bold move, several Karnataka Congress MLAs have descended on Delhi to amplify calls for a cabinet overhaul in the state. About 15 of them gathered at Karnataka Bhavan for a key huddle, centering discussions on ministerial changes.

Sources indicate the session involved a signature drive supporting demands for new appointments and increased inclusion after the government’s three-year milestone. This comes amid whispers of dissatisfaction over stagnant leadership.

MLA AS Ponnanna from Virajpet, doubling as the CM’s counsel, dismissed notions of revolt. “It’s standard procedure,” he asserted, revealing prior letters from seniors—including his own signature—and assembly-session talks with Siddaramaiah.

He noted uncertainty over whether the high command was formally approached post those meetings. Ponnanna advocated viewing this as healthy democracy, with decisions reserved for Kharge, the CM, and deputy.

Expressing local hopes, he said, “A reshuffle must include Kodagu representation.” The group eyes a meeting with party president Mallikarjun Kharge to press their case.

As Karnataka navigates its political landscape, this reshuffle buzz could reshape dynamics, fostering inclusivity and revitalizing the government’s image. It signals proactive party management to preempt fractures and gear up for polls.
