JK DGP Nalin Prabhat made a historic visit to Lolab Valley, a region close to the Line of Control (LOC), marking a first for a police chief in the area, known for its history of terrorism and unrest. During his tour, DGP Prabhat reviewed the anti-terror operations, checking the preparedness of the counter-terrorism forces. He engaged with personnel from the JK Police’s SOG and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at the SOG Camp in Lolab, commending their work in the difficult environment. DGP Prabhat stressed the need for continuous counter-insurgency operations to neutralize Pakistani terrorists and prevent them from infiltrating into the Kashmir Valley. The visit aimed to bolster the morale of local police and convey a strong message against terror. The local population welcomed the visit, seeing it as a significant step to build trust and promote inclusion in the region, which has been affected by conflict. Experts believe the DGP’s visit will be crucial in changing Kashmir’s security approach, which now emphasizes both security measures and connecting with the local population. Current counter-terror operations are underway in various districts of the Jammu region, including Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, and Udhampur. These operations are supported by on-the-ground intelligence and aim to enhance surveillance and disrupt infiltration routes.
