Kerala: Air India flight to Kuwait makes precautionary touchdown at Karipur airport after hearth alarm goes off

An Air India Express (AIE) flight to Kuwait, which took off from Karipur airport close to Kozhikode on Friday morning with 17 passengers and 6 crew made a “precautionary” touchdown shortly after take-off as a fireplace alarm went off within the cargo part, airport sources mentioned.
Airport director-in cost, Muhammed Sahid, mentioned that every one the passengers and crew on board the flight are secure. The flight had taken off at 8.38 am and landed safely by 9.11 am.

After the alarm went off, the pilot selected to return and the plane landed safely, AIE sources mentioned, including on investigation, it was discovered that it was a false alarm.

The plane remains to be below investigation and alternate preparations are being made for the passengers, the sources added.
