Kerala House passes decision towards CAG report: Factually flawed on KIIFB’s off-budget borrowings

In an unprecedented growth, the Kerala Assembly on Friday handed a decision towards a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which termed the off-budget borrowings by Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) as unconstitutional and stated that it encroached upon the powers of the Union authorities.
The decision, moved by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, was handed regardless of sturdy objections raised by the Opposition, which stated the federal government was attempting to destroy a Constitutional physique. The decision stated the Assembly rejected CAG’s reference about KIIFB in its report.
