Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge unleashed a scathing attack on the BJP government following the arrest of Indian Youth Congress leader Uday Bhanu Chib, vowing unflinching resistance. ‘Efforts to terrorize our youth leaders won’t break us. Congress is fearless and prepared for all sacrifices in defense of democracy and the Constitution,’ he declared in Bengaluru.
During his press briefing, Kharge dissected the motives behind the arrest post an AI Summit demonstration. ‘This isn’t standard procedure; it’s a deliberate ploy to target and cow down Congress,’ he observed, contrasting it with usual brief detentions.
Kharge didn’t hold back on BJP’s double standards. ‘What about Nitin Gadkari’s role in the Commonwealth Games scandal? BJP preaches morality to others but evades self-scrutiny,’ he quipped. ‘Introspection would expose their hypocrisies.’ He unequivocally denounced the Youth Congress detentions.
Highlighting national woes, Kharge spotlighted youth despair over employment and widespread disillusionment with the Centre. ‘The job crisis has bred deep-seated rage. PM Modi promised much but delivers little, seemingly kowtowing to Trump-like policies.’
The trade deal with America loomed large in his critique: ‘It spells doom for farmers, chaining them to exploitation.’ Kharge positioned Congress as the bulwark against such regressions.
In a stirring finale, he affirmed the party’s enduring battle spirit: ‘We stand tall, undeterred. For the soul of our democracy and Constitution, no sacrifice is too great. The fight continues unabated.’
