During the 82nd meeting of the Kurukshetra Development Board, led by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, several significant development projects were discussed. The primary goal is to enhance Kurukshetra’s global recognition as a cultural and spiritual hub. The plans involve the construction of four new information centers to improve visitor experience, environmental enhancements in the Jyotisar pilgrimage area, and the integration of the Mahabharata theme into the city’s design, including themed gates, squares, and the implementation of electric buses. The meeting also reported the completion of a survey identifying 18 new pilgrimage sites, increasing the total to 182 sites within the 48 Kos Kurukshetra area. Key officials from various departments, including Chief Secretary Anurag Rastorgi and Home Department Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra, participated in the meeting. Additional participants included Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Cabinet Minister Vipul Goyal, MLA Ashok Arora, and MP Naveen Jindal, who joined via video conferencing to deliberate on Kurukshetra’s developmental strategies.
