The 17 are uninhabited isles of the Union Territory and permission for the entry from the sub-divisional Justice of the Peace is required.

The District Magistrate (DM) of Lakshadweep issued a proclamation underneath Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on this regard.

The choice on the proclamation was taken on Wednesday to stop terrorist or smuggling actions on the uninhabited islands which have momentary buildings as homes of labourers who harvest coconuts.
