The Delhi-based Rouse Avenue court has concluded the hearing and reserved its order regarding the charges in the Land for Jobs case involving Lalu Prasad Yadav and other individuals. The CBI has filed a charge sheet alleging that jobs were granted within the Railways in exchange for land. The court is scheduled to pronounce its order on October 13. Legal representatives for Lalu Yadav argued that the CBI’s FIR should be quashed, citing a lack of proper authorization and claiming the case is politically driven. They maintained that no evidence directly links job appointments to land transfers, presenting sale deeds to demonstrate legitimate land purchases. The defense for Rabri Devi concluded their arguments, emphasizing that the buying of land with money is not a criminal act and that no preferential treatment was given to job candidates. The Delhi High Court previously rejected a petition by the RJD Chief seeking to halt the trial court proceedings, which focuses on accusations that Yadav provided railway jobs in exchange for land during his time as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.
