Lok Sabha passes invoice to provide tribal standing to Hattee group in Himachal

NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha on Friday handed a invoice to provide scheduled tribe standing to the members of the Hattee group in Himachal Pradesh.
Piloting that Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Third Amendment) Bill 2022, Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda stated that the invoice seeks to offer justice to the Hattee group of Trans Giri space of Sirmour district within the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh.
The minister stated that the Hattee group members dwelling in Uttarakhand had been included within the listing of scheduled tribes, however the profit was not accorded to these dwelling in Himachal Pradesh.
“The State Government of Himachal Pradesh has requested (to the central government) to include Hattee community of Trans Giri area of Sirmour district in Scheduled Tribes list, excluding those communities which are already notified as Scheduled Castes for the State of Himachal Pradesh,” stated the assertion of objects and causes of the Bill.
The Bill follows the suggestions of the Himachal Pradesh authorities that Hattee group be included within the listing of Scheduled Tribes in respect of the state.
Once the Bill is authorized by Parliament and the principles are framed, the members of the Hattee group might be entitled to all advantages that are supplied to the members of the scheduled tribes, particularly reservation in instructional establishments and authorities jobs.
