Birla emphasized the ongoing relevance of Lord Mahavir’s teachings and India’s status as a democratic nation, especially during the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. He highlighted that Mahavir’s principles of non-violence, compassion, and self-discipline remain pertinent. He emphasized that these teachings are a holistic lifestyle that promotes harmony and ethical behavior. In a world facing increasing conflict, dialogue is essential. Birla also discussed India’s democratic history, noting that India inherited democracy from ancient traditions. He indicated that India’s democratic institutions are rooted in discussion and cooperation. He stated that India stands as a global example of successful democracy. He called for a deeper appreciation for India’s democratic heritage and the wisdom of spiritual leaders like Lord Mahavir, both promoting dialogue and compassion.
