Madhya Pradesh’s ambitious ₹4.65 lakh crore budget for 2026-27 is being celebrated by BJP leader Hemant Khandelwal as a pro-people powerhouse, with special emphasis on the poor, youth, farmers, and women. Amid rising political discourse in Bhopal, he called it a pivotal stride in the state’s developmental journey.
Khandelwal noted the per capita income leap—19% growth to ₹1.79 lakh—reflecting sound economic stewardship. This budget encapsulates a vision where prosperity trickles down effectively.
Key agricultural boosts include deploying one lakh solar pumps and scaling natural farming to one lakh hectares, aiding sustainable yields. Women’s Ladli Behna scheme sees increased funding, amplifying their role in family finances.
Youth initiatives feature new hostels, massive ₹25,000 crore credit lines, Atal Pension aid for 40,000, and ₹815 crore for sports infrastructure. The ₹21,000 crore Majra-Tola push modernizes rural areas, complemented by 294 Sandeepani schools for future-ready education.
Cultural allocations of ₹10,000 crore support Gumkar and Jee Ram Ji initiatives, gearing up for 2028 religious spectacles and tourism surge. It’s the blueprint for MP’s $2 trillion ambition by 2047, per Khandelwal.
Countering detractors, he recalled the modest ₹23,000 crore budget in 2003 versus today’s enormity—a 20x expansion. He advocated unity in lauding 15-20% scheme uplifts and planned increments, heralding all-round advancement.
