In a festive boost to women’s self-reliance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched special Holi hampers prepared by rural Didis, flagging off seven vehicles under the Aajeevika Rural Express scheme. This move encourages natural, chemical-free Holi celebrations accessible to all.
Curated by skilled Didis from Ujjain, Sagar, Katni, Sehore, and Rewa, each hamper brims with 10 authentic items: vibrant natural colors, desi ghee, delectable mithai, gokasth for rituals, puja samagri, and trendy T-shirts. A compelling short film on their creation process added emotional depth to the Bhopal launch.
Yadav also unveiled a Community Managed Training Center and kicked off a workshop for self-help groups in Kushabhau Thakre Sabhaghar. He hailed the Didis as symbols of solidarity, transforming unity into economic might. ‘Sisters are driving tractors, drones, refilling gas, operating cafes, and dominating markets with pickles and papads—exemplifying maternal strength in our heritage,’ he said.
State efforts have integrated 65 lakh Didis into 5 lakh SHGs, crowning 12 lakh as lakhpatis. Generating Rs 310 crore annually, these groups shine in natural farming too, with 50,000 participants. Budgetary surges—26% for women and child welfare, 34% for rural development—signal unwavering support.
Joining Yadav were key ministers: Prahlad Singh Patel, Gautam Tetwal, and Radha Singh. The event featured stall visits and discussions with Didis showcasing their wares. Virtually, CM inaugurated Gwalior’s Aajeevika Mart, Jabalpur Airport SHG outlets, and Holi fairs statewide. This blend of festivity and empowerment positions MP as a leader in grassroots development.
