Maharashtra Govt. Vows to Curb Language-Related Aggression

Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, has addressed the issue of language-based violence, stating the government’s firm stance against it. While the Marathi language is a source of pride, Fadnavis made it clear that any form of violence or intimidation related to language will not be accepted. He stated that the police have acted in a recent case and that legal action will be taken against those who resort to such behavior in the future. Fadnavis also expressed his views on the issue of language disputes. Other leaders, including Minister Yogesh Kadam and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, have also weighed in on the subject, emphasizing the need to respect the Marathi language and avoid violence.
