Bhagalpur district police in Bihar delivered justice with the arrest of two cyber criminals duping farmers and the final robber from a brazen market heist. These operations, part of a broader anti-crime initiative, have dismantled key elements of fraudulent schemes and robbery syndicates.
Focusing on a scam gang abusing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi platform, officers responded to a farmer’s grievance dated February 27, 2026. The case, logged as 20/2026, exposed how the fraudsters targeted vulnerable individuals facing KYC hurdles for their subsidies.
Through advanced technical tracking, police zeroed in on Rajkumar Das of Habibpur and Deepak Sharma of Radhanagar, arresting them on March 2. The haul included digital devices, six ATM cards, and bank passbooks used in fake transactions to drain victims’ savings. Notably, two more gang members were previously remanded to jail.
On the robbery front, the October 5, 2025, Ghogha Market incident reached closure with Pawan Kumar Sharma’s arrest in Deoghar, Jharkhand, on March 3. As the last man standing, Sharma joins his four cohorts behind bars; his dossier boasts numerous dacoity and brawl cases.
Reiterating a no-mercy approach to cyber and organized offenses, Bhagalpur police hailed contributions from cyber units, intelligence divisions, and local stations. These victories not only recover stolen assets but also deter potential criminals, fostering a secure environment where farmers and shoppers can thrive without fear.
