Vivek Vihar police in Delhi executed a daring operation, arresting two auto lifting experts and reclaiming a stolen Royal Enfield Bullet from Jhilmil Colony. The black classic bike, taken on February 23, was found alongside a Splendor Plus used for scouting and escapes, stuffed with burglary gear.
The arrested, 22-year-old Akash and Anoop Kumar from Ghaziabad’s Sahibabad, were habitual offenders fueled by narcotics and need. A special unit led by Inspector Harkesh Gaba, with ACP Mohit Singh’s oversight, patrolled relentlessly against surging thefts.
Spotting them at 2 AM on the night spanning February 28-March 1, constables Subhash and Chintu detained the prowlers. Bag searches yielded tools matching CCTV images from the Bullet theft. Grueling questioning unveiled confessions to several jobs, including the key incident logged in e-FIR 04195/2026 under BNS 305(b).
Raiding Anoop’s Bhopura hideout yielded the motorcycle. From poor families with basic schooling, the pair sold bikes for survival. Their capture averts more losses, showcasing vigilant policing. Further inquiries aim to dismantle accomplices, ensuring safer streets.
