MEA Reports 1,563 Indian Deportations from US This Year

The Ministry of External Affairs reported that 1,563 Indian citizens have been deported from the United States as of July 16, 2024. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared these figures during a press briefing, highlighting that most deportees arrived on commercial flights. Discussions regarding an India-US trade deal are currently underway, with the MEA promising to share finalized details. Moreover, the MEA addressed incidents involving Indian nationals in the US, including a shoplifting arrest and a case of alleged possession of child pornography, underscoring the need for Indian citizens to adhere to the laws and regulations of the host country.
