A new development in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case sees Vipin Raghuvanshi, the victim’s brother, pushing for a CBI investigation. He claims that a leaked phone conversation suggests the involvement of Sonam Raghuvanshi’s entire family in the murder that occurred during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Police investigations point to Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and three other individuals as the perpetrators. Raja’s body was discovered in a deep ravine in Sohra. Vipin alleges that the Meghalaya police’s investigation was flawed, especially regarding the bail granted to some co-accused. He refers to an unverified call recording allegedly showing Sonam communicating with her family from jail, a claim her family denies. He accuses Sonam’s family of being involved in the legal process of her bail. The East Khasi Hills Court has granted bail to Silom James, accused of tampering with evidence and providing shelter to Sonam and Raj after the murder. Previously, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa were also granted bail. The main accused, Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three hired killers remain in judicial custody.
