AAP MLA Mehraj Malik, currently incarcerated, has sent an appeal from jail to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Appu Singh Slathia, a spokesperson for the AAP, shared that Malik requested the Chief Minister to visit his constituency in the Doda district to assess the damage caused by floods. Malik also highlighted concerns about the frequent closures of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, citing significant financial losses for apple growers. The detained MLA, who also holds the position of Jammu-Kashmir unit president for the AAP, underscored the economic dependence of the region on the apple industry and horticulture, which have suffered from highway disruptions. He called on the CM to oversee the relief, rehabilitation, and compensation work in his constituency. Mehraj Malik was arrested on September 8th in Doda district under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for allegedly disrupting public order and is currently being held in Kathua District Jail.
