MiG 29K fighter plane crashes off Goa coast in Panaji

PANAJI: A MiG 29K fighter plane on Wednesday crashed over the ocean on a routine sortie off the Goa coast, the Indian Navy stated.
The officers stated the plane crashed after it developed a technical malfunction whereas returning to base.
“Pilot ejected safely and was recovered in a swift search and rescue operation,” the official stated.
The pilot was reported to be in secure situation.
A Board of Inquiry (BoI) has been ordered to analyze the reason for the incident. Further particulars are awaited.
