Modi Govt Shields India from Fuel Price Shock: BJP MPs

Fuel price hikes have sparked nationwide uproar, yet BJP leaders argue India dodged the worst. Rajya Sabha’s Gulam Ali Khatana revealed that compared to neighbors’ 25-40% spikes, India’s adjustment is remarkably restrained.

‘Governments everywhere grapple with this; PM seeks our collective support,’ she added. Bihar’s Vijay Kumar Choudhary described the decision as a last resort amid Gulf war-induced oil volatility fueling inflation globally.

BJP’s Syed Shahnawaz Hussain noted pressures from US, Iran, Israel, and Gulf strife have inflated international prices sharply, but India’s response— a Rs 3 hike—exemplifies minimal impact policy.
