Prime Minister Narendra Modi set an optimistic tone for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, praising the event’s international draw as evidence of India’s youth-driven tech revolution. The summit begins Monday in New Delhi, hosting elites from across the globe for four intensive days.
In his X post, Modi remarked, ‘We take great pride in welcoming the world to the India AI Impact Summit 2026. This highlights our youngsters’ strengths and our nation’s fast-paced advancements in science and technology, playing a key role in global growth.’
He accompanied his message with a profound Sanskrit subhashita: ‘Dane tapasi shaucham cha vigyanam vinaye naye. Vismayo na hi kartavyo bahuratna vasundhara.’ It conveys that a treasure-filled earth perpetually offers exemplars in philanthropy, discipline, courage, science, courtesy, and statesmanship—hence, no astonishment at ongoing discoveries.
Modi will cut the ribbon at 5 PM at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, with the event extending to February 20. As the first such AI summit in a developing economy, it features participation from more than 100 countries across seven cohorts, promoting responsible AI via the triad of ‘People, Planet, and Progress.’
The summit’s structure fosters broad dialogue on AI’s societal impact, from ethical deployment to planetary sustainability. India’s hosting role amplifies its voice in shaping AI norms, backed by a vibrant innovation ecosystem.
Looking ahead, this gathering could catalyze policies for inclusive AI, ensuring benefits reach every corner of the globe while celebrating human ingenuity.
